Baker Wardlaw’s practice has its roots in the forms, symbols and other structures that populate our daily lives : we recognize logos, emoticons, vernacular and memetic forms. These objects are selected and isolated to provide space for reflection and critique. Language, or rather languages are at the center of his practice, writing and text play an integral part of the elements he puts into place.
Whether an image, object, or text, Wardlaw attempts to divert and manipulate our perception and understanding of the structures of our contemporary condition.
