“At first glance, Luisanna’s paintings have a dream-like tranquillity about them and they seem almost reluctant to want to reveal too much but then as one looks more closely there is a gentle luring narrative that pervades the works and their deception becomes apparent : blobs and swift brush strokes slowly reveal something other, a touch of humour, even irony, intended or not, vaporously materialises under one’s gaze as it lingers innocently on their surface. Our initial reaction although pulled in one direction, is gently swayed to take another, one where essentialism is disturbed by the delicate commentary of soft persistent babblings.”
